This Short Learning Programme will empower you, as an experienced teacher, to improve your planning, teaching and assessing of the Natural Sciences curriculum at General Education and Training (GET) level.
This programme will benefit teachers who have formerly been trained in the specialised areas of Physics, Chemistry or Biology, and are now teaching an outcomes-based curriculum that integrates the disciplines and requires new and inventive approaches. It will empower teachers to illustrate concepts in new and effective ways, and provides for practical experimentation.
This short learning programme should be taken hand in hand with Natural Sciences in everyday life, which focuses on subject knowledge in the area of Natural Sciences.

Entrance Requirements

You must be competent in English and have

  • Theoretical, academic and practical professional knowledge and understanding at NQF Level 5

Minimum: 6 months
Maximum: 12 months

  • Designing, planning, implementing and evaluating a Natural Sciences programme for a GET classroom
  • Professional skills and judgement needed by Economic and Management Sciences specialists
  • Critical analysis of the theoretical underpinnings of Economic and Management Sciences
  • Contemporary trends in the subject area of Natural Sciences.

Assessment

Formative: You will be required to submit two assignments.
Summative: You will be required to write one assignment.
