Why haven't I received any correspondence from the college?
Your Postal address changed and you did not inform the college or you gave your home address but you receive your post in another address.
You can complete a Change of Address form on this web site, or you can go into any one of our branches to do so.
Why didn't I receive the reminder SMS that was sent out?
Your cell phone number changed and you did not notify the college.

What is the pass mark for Lyceum assessments?
The pass mark for all Lyceum formative and summative assessments is 50%.

Learning Programme Registration
Can I register to write the examination if I did not submit both my assignments per subject?
No, it is an admission requirement that you submit both assignments per subject.
My learning programme has expired and I need only one subject to complete the learning programme, must I re-enrol for this subject?
You can apply for an extension for ONLY ONE subject. It must be a final year subject. No extensions will be granted for first and second year subjects. Granting an extension for one subject is subject to the payment of a fee.

Previous Examination Papers
Are previous examination papers available?
Yes, question papers from previous examinations may be requested from the College at a cost of R35,00 per paper. Closing date for the requests for previous question papers is 22 February 2007.
Can you send me some previous examination papers?
To get previous examination papers, fill in the Request for Question Papers form, deposit the appropriate amount of your request and proof of payment to the College. Question papers will be faxed or posted to you within 48 hours of receipt of your request.
Can I collect previous examination papers from the College?
Yes, but you must order the papers 48 hours in advance.

Postal Services
What about the post?
The College assumes postal delivery within seven days of dispatching letters (and twenty-one days for delivery to an address outside the country). If you are expecting a communication by post, and it hasn't arrived within that time, then contact Student Services on 083 918 2500, to request assistance.
Remote Areas
What if I live in a remote area?
If you live in remote areas within the Republic, we strongly recommend that you supply the College with both a reliable and easily accessible fax number and an e-mail address. This will enable you to receive information about examination eligibility, registration and results without delay. We also encourage you to stay in regular contact with the College and ensure that you stay abreast of any changes.

At the Examinations
Can I write at any Lyceum examination venue?
No, you may only write your examination at the venue where you have been booked to write. In other words, you must write your exam at the venue shown on your Personal Timetable. However if your circumstances have changed, the college will endeavour to assist you in a change of examination venue, provided your request is received before 22 February 2007.
What documentation must I bring to the exam?
You must bring your Personal Timetable and proof of your identity (either your ID book or your passport). You will not be allowed to write an examination unless you have the confirmation letter and proof of identity.
What if I don't have an ID book or a passport?
If you are unable to produce your identity document or passport, please contact Student Services on 083 918 2500 to agree on valid identification.
At what time should I arrive at the examination venue?
You should arrive 30 minutes before the examination is due to start. Morning sessions are from 09:00 to 12:00, so you must arrive at the examination by 08:30. Afternoon sessions are from 14:00 to 17:00, so you must arrive at the examination venue by 13:30.
Do I need to 'sign in'?
On arrival at the examination venue, you must sign the attendance register. You must sign the register again when you hand in your script to the invigilator at the end of the examination. If your ID number is not listed on the attendance register, you must write it in next to your name. You must also submit your original official proof of identity and your Personal Timetable to the official invigilator at the examination.
Is there anything else that I must check?
Yes, you should check the subject and also the subject code of your examination.
What stationery must I bring to the exam?
You must have the following with you for each examination:
- a pen;
- a ruler;
- a pencil; and
- an eraser.
Pencil cases must not be left on the desks.

Examination Results
My examination results were withheld, why?
Your Account is in arrears, and your results will only be released after the arrears have been settled.
My account is now up to date and I want to retrieve my withheld results, what do I do?
You contact the student services department, give them a copy of your proof of payment and it will be resolved after it is checked/ cleared by the relevant party.
Can I phone the College to get my results?
No, you cannot phone the College. However, results will be available on the MTN examination result line: 083 123 2444.
I have a query about my examination results, what should I do?
Any queries should be forwarded in writing to the College within 14 days of the results being released.
I haven't received my examination results.
The first thing to check is whether your account with the college is up to date.
The second thing to check is if you have given the College your latest address.
If everything is in order from your side, contact Student Support Services
I applied for a promotion and need my results before they should actually be released, is this possible?
No, All results must first be approved by the Examination Committee before it could be released; this Examination Committee meets and approves the results just before the results are made public.
I want to view my exam answer script, is this possible?
Yes, you have two weeks after results were made public to make an appointment and view your script on our premises, the academic head of your school will be present, You may however not write in the script, make copies of or remove this script.
